When I arrived in Barcelona, I went to look for a good park or some nature, where I could go running. At the beginning I thought something like this is impossible to find here, because all the green spots on my Barcelona map turned out to be not really suitable places for running. Either they were crowed tourists places (e.g. Parc Guell) or I could not see any green. But then someone recommended me the Collserola Park/ Tibidabo in the north of Barcelona. And from there on the Tibidabo mountain (512 meters high) situated in the Collserola Park became my true little island, where I went regularly to escape from the hectic of the city. A variety of forest ecosystems can be found there and the slopes are ideal for running, cycling or simply going for a walk while enjoying the splendid view of the city. People who are longing for peace and quiet should definitly go there one day, but don?t forget to bear in mind that the best time to go there is either early in the morning, during weekdays or when it rains. At weekends it can get really packed with sporty people and families.
