Assignment 3: a cultural event, by saskia
The strongest men start, they create the bottem two rows of the tower. Light thin women are their pillars by sticking their heads under their underarms, their most important focus seems to keep breathing. Around them rows of people push against them to create a solid base.
The tower gest higher and thicker. The very smallest ones (so cute!) at the top. The whole square shivers when the tower moves. But even the smallest castellana (6 years?) stays deadcalm, and concentrated she refinds her stability.
The outside layer of the tower peels of, only leaving one line of people behind 7 persons high, no support from others. At the hightest point the little pontytaled girl sticks her vist in the air, the sun shimmering behind it.
A wave of adrenaline and unbelief rolls trhough the crowd. A few seconds, and then the little one slides down the tower along the shaking bodies. Strong arms catch her.
