1st Assignment

The place which I´m going to write about is MACBA, Museu d´Art Contemporani de Barcelona. We went there one stupid Monday, when we didn´t have anything better to do. It was supposed to be just a quick visit, but we spend there over four hours.

Building reminds me about similar museum in Finland, Kiasma. It is big and looks quite cold. But the atmosphere inside is still nice and building suits to the arts what it is keeping inside.

The usual expo was ok. There wasn´t anything that special but it was nice to see anyway. Adrian Piper´s exhibition, Deste 1965, I liked a lot. Adrian Piper is an artist, writer and she is Afro-American, born and living in Harlem. She got a lot of philosophy, strong opinions and interesting thoughts in her works. There was many works where viewer is a part of the work. And also some documents about her earlier performances. There was videos, paintings, collages, writings?

Museum is located quite near Placa Catalunya, in Placa dels Ángels. Outside the building there was many little guys whit skateboards, I liked them also. And while walking in the are near the museum u can see many cool graffitis.

Thanks and Hyvää Joulua kaikille!
-karo
