Assignment 2
I think that Spanish and Catalan people are very similer in many way. The fact that they both want to be known for who they are and not be mixed up with the other. Before i came to Barcelona i had the impression that everyone spoke Catalan and i was a little bit worried because i did not know any Catalan, only Spanish. Both Spanish and Catalan people are very proud to be who they are but espectially when i spoke to Catalan people they made it very clear that they were Catalan and not Spanish. Spanish people at first seem very distant and not wanting to help but if yo try to speak their language they do suddenly change and are willing to help.
I have to say, although i dont think catalan or spanish people will be happy to hear this that i find it quite difficult to tell the difference between them. Yes when listening to the language it helps but other wise.
