Catalan Culture 2004 Class Blog

jueves, octubre 02, 2003

Hi everybody,
This will be my homework for my first assignment. My favourite place. I haven´t seen so much from spain yet. This is my first time in Spain and I like it a lot.
So the place were I went outside Barecelona is Girona. I thougt is was beautiful. Girona has a great history an d the buildings show that to you. We went to several churches and the great cathedral. It was magnificant. Many building are in Roman style. The are built with big square stones and the building are most of them square also. The cathedral is real impressive and big and it shows you the welth of the katholics in past times. Further there is a jewish part in the city. The streets are very narrow and there are some jewish musea over there. I have shot some beatiful, I think, pictures in black and white. I will scan them sometime for you to look at them. We also went to a bar in Girona and ate tapas. They were great. We ate the patatoes with the hot sauce. MMMMMM. The city centre has narrow streets and you can see the stores and walk under stones. I don´t no how to say it in englisch. Further is river that is running to the centre is really great to see. You can see the fisch swim in it. Also there are many bridges that will bring you from the old town to the new town. I had a great day there inspeat of the rain. The first day that it rained all day long. This was Girona how I experienced it!!!

Inge
