¿Dónde están los escoceses?
Well, the Mercè festival seems to be going well, but there have been one or two snags.
Each year the city invites a different country to demonstrate aspects of their culture. Last year it was the Dutch, and this year Scotland.
Fine, except for one thing. The opening ceremony was due to be a spectacular display of Scottish bagpipers parading down the Ramblas. all 300 or so of them. But, when it came to it, only 18 or so pipers turned up for the parade! Where were the rest of them? Rumours started to fly - perhaps they could be found in the local pubs, or maybe at the FC Barça match
Wherever they were, the Scottish minister for Tourism was obviously more than a little embarrassed. What do you think?
