Assignment 1
Menorca
It is the second largest and the northernmost of the Balearic Islands. Population 71,620, and the capital is Mahón. You can get there by ferries and plane (Menorca`s airport is 7 km soutwest of the city.) Still this island has untouched beaches, coves and ravines around it`s 216 km coastline. I think this most be one of the few places in the Mediterranean where it is possible to have beautiful beaches largly to yourself in summer! Although the tourist are comming more and more..especially the British. I just hope that they can keep the island the way it is now, and that the tourists not destroyes the Island...

It is a very quiet island and there is not much to do without relaxing...and laying on the beaches. It has many small restaurants by the sea where you can spend "all night" (untill they close...)drinking wine, having some great meals and good "talks". There are many small bars also in the ports and the people are nice and friendly. I was visiting a friend of mine (mallorquina) so I was getting the inside of the island, not the tourist way. I really like this island, and the people living there. So take the chance and go, because it is different from Spain, the mainland.
